Legal notice and privacy
Who publishes and hosts Cairn, what the site records about its visitors and the administrators who sign in, how long it keeps it, and how to exercise your rights over that data. In short: no audience measurement, no cookies for visitors, nothing loaded from another domain.
This translation is provided for convenience; the French version prevails: Mentions légales.

Personal data
Visitors
These pages do not measure their audience and set no cookies. They load nothing from another domain: scripts, stylesheets and fonts are served by Cairn itself, and the site's security policy blocks everything else.
Like any server, Cairn's keeps technical logs: IP address, date, requested address, response code and browser. They are used for security and troubleshooting, not to track you. Web server logs are kept for 14 days, then deleted by rotation; application logs, capped at 30 MB, are deleted sooner when that cap is reached, and at every service update.
Sign-in
The tool is restricted to addresses authorized by the publisher. To sign in:
- a six-digit code is sent by email; it is valid for 10 minutes. Cairn keeps only a hash of it, along with a hash of the IP address to limit attempts, and deletes both one hour after the code expires;
- a strictly necessary session cookie keeps you signed in until the browser is closed, or for 30 days if you check “stay signed in”.
- a language cookie, set only when you choose FR or EN on the sign-in page or in the tool, remembers that choice for a year; it holds nothing but the language code.
Free audit
The free audit on the homepage requires neither an account nor an email address. Cairn keeps the audited domain and its result for 24 hours, to serve the same result again without re-reading the site, then deletes them; it also counts the number of audits run each day, and nothing else. The audited site is not added to any portfolio.
To limit abuse, Cairn keeps a fingerprint of your IP address (an HMAC, never the address itself) for one hour at most, in memory only: it is never written to the database, and disappears when the service restarts.
Email exchanges
What you write to contact@subalpine.it is used only to reply to you. Nothing is sold, shared or used for commercial purposes.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Informatique et Libertés Act, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the processing of your data, which you can exercise at contact@subalpine.it. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
Liability
Cairn's score measures verifiable best practices as of the date of the check; it guarantees neither a ranking in a search engine nor a citation by an answer engine. Links to other sites are provided for information only.
