Cairn

About

Cairn is a tool from SubAlpine.IT, Jérôme Buisine's business, based in Dingy-Saint-Clair, Haute-Savoie, France. Every morning it scores websites out of 100 on SEO, GEO and AIO, using 62 written, verifiable rules, with no AI in the measurement.

Who builds it

Jérôme Buisine designs, develops and runs Cairn. Under the name SubAlpine.IT, he offers services in machine learning, data science, optimization and software development. His code is on GitHub, his background on LinkedIn.

Why a score without AI

AI answer engines have become a way into websites: all the more reason to measure what they can read, not to let them judge. A language model that scores a page gives an opinion that changes from one run to the next and cannot be verified. A written rule gives the same result for the same page, says why, and gets corrected when it is wrong.

Each Cairn criterion states what it checks, why it matters, how much it weighs and the fix that resolves it. The method names them all.

Lean by design

A check is a few requests per site and a reading of the HTML, the way a search crawler does it: no model to run, no browser to launch. One check a day is enough, at 5 a.m., on a server hosted by OVH.
